Important Hiking Devices: Things You Required Before Hitting The Trail

There is nothing worse than getting miles away from civilization and encountering an emergency you are not prepared for. Whether you’re lost with no food, caught in an unanticipated rain, or in pain from poor footwear, treking without the best devices is never ever a fun experience.

Your gear will vary depending on what kind of hiking adventure you are preparing, however whether you’re backpacking the Appalachian Trail or preparing a day trek with your household, there are some pieces of hiking gear you ought to always remember.

First, you need a rugged treking backpack to easily hold the rest of your equipment. A small day pack may be all you need if the majority of your hikes are short and you rarely plan to remain overnight. If you are preparing longer hiking journeys, try to find a knapsack that fits comfortably with plenty of compartments and sufficient room for all your food, protein snacks and equipment.

Proper shoes is another important piece of treking equipment, no matter where and the length of time you are hiking. Select hiking boots or shoes that are designed for the kind of surface you will most often be hiking and make sure they are a comfy fit. Wear high quality treking socks also, developed for the particular climate you are in and cushioned for extra support. For a more accurate fit, purchase your treking socks first and use them to look for your hiking boots.

Always have a map of the area you are hiking, as well as a compass. The Coleman digital compass is great for backcountry hiking. Trail maps are typically readily available at the ranger station for the majority of state and national hiking path systems.

Food and water is a must, no matter for how long you are hiking. Long walkings need at least one gallon of water per person each day, while 32 ounces of water per person is usually appropriate on much shorter walkings. Bring along a lot of calorie rich snacks, like jerky and trail mix, for all your walkings and load an extra day’s supply of food for overnight hikes. It’s a good idea to bring adequate food for both lunch and dinner on your day hikes, just in case things take longer than planned.

You will likewise desire a first aid package with you on all your hiking trips. Unless you are hiking in extreme conditions, you will just desire the essentials for insect bites, small scrapes, blisters, thorns, and other typical path conditions. Sunscreen, lip balm, and insect repellant ought to likewise be included in your hiking first aid bag.

Never begin on a hiking journey without rain equipment and extra clothing, specifically in areas with really unpredictable weather condition. A lightweight rain coat with a hood is ideal if you get caught in the rain. An emergency shelter might be a requirement for extreme weather condition hiking and an emergency situation blanket is a should if you’re treking in the winter season.

Another necessary piece of hiking devices that you shouldn’t forget is a little flashlight. Flashlights are important for long walkings when you require to find your method around camp, but they can show to be convenient on day walkings too if you are still treking at sundown.

Make certain everybody you are treking with has a whistle for emergency situations. Other hiking equipment you need to bring on every journey is some sort of fire starter, along with wind and rain resistant matches, and a multi-purpose knife.

These are one of the most standard basics for any hiking journey. Longer trips will require extra gear, as will extreme weather condition walkings. You may desire additional gear, depending on your hike and your interests, like binoculars, a hiking pole, or a trail guide.

How To Build A Bushcraft Fire No Fuss In The Heavy Rain And Fireball

It’s about always being prepared. You might find yourself in these sort of like conditions after you’ve just experienced two months worth of Sun. This little trick for today is how to start a fire in the pouring down rain when you’ve basically got wet wood and, as you can see, little branches like so which usually help you to create a fire are all absolutely soaking wet through with just a couple Of ingredients for the fire or the fire, making read this, and you might see something you’ve not seen before what we’ve got all these smoke on the moisture, publish the player, that’s going to be walking the road, I’m feeding it and keep that up a level where You want another topic: we’re going to keep at a level where so I’ll continue chopping, these little logs into finer pieces.

Oh baby, okay, okay, just give you a little situation going camp with you everything’s under the tarp. We pod you they’re keeping nice and dry and warm so I’ll start to put some stones around that and then we can cook off it and just keep it at a nice level. Let’s make up, let’s not get carried away, big isn’t always better. I better move the ABS underwear on baby Nikki’s got a decent pile of what they’re all nice to taken out of the wet weather he’s D, but some of it and D must it using the back of the silky, saw they’re doing a fine job.

I’ve got some water on the boil and sound for cooking very very soon. These are the ingredients. I used a wooden cutting curl feathers, I’ve been curled and this has been dipped in paraffin. So that’s a sure way of didn’t it go in, but they can be. Temperamental actually depends on whether the paraffins sort like evaporated. Then we’ve got the makeup pad, scrape that and then you’ll get like a fluff, so that’ll catch a spark very very easily, and then I also used of a petrol block.

So these are doused in salt like paraffin as well and they’re commonly used in the army. The military to get a little fire going so then the ingredients guys very quick, very easy, very simple, especially when you’re in these type of conditions, where it’s very wet, has been very windy. Very dank and you want to get a fire going quickly with the least amount of force. It’s still raining and raining out, but yeah.

We have to obsess slightly different twists to making a fire, but there you go, a fire is a fire. We’ve got one. We’ve got some water on the goal there and little bhaji, she’s nice and warm and enjoying this fire. So that’s well goodbye from me. Let’s go back from here! See you later see you later guys. You took care, remember, be prepared, see on the next one ciao for now Bhaiji big comfy. You can’t be there, but they can’t be in puppy seats, yeah happy there aren’t you go nice and warm coming to you from out in the bush.

We have what’s called fireball cinnamon whisky – oh man, thighs nice is just a super fan, fan Nikki. Oh you can see it looks like a sample Bob. It’s a sample bottle in the sense of for beer and the Brewers, not for anything else, but that is absolutely outstanding. You can see the fireball inside certainly warmth of the cockles. We’ve got steaks on the go: we’ve got rice, brown, rice, whole grain, rice, they’re, cooking.

In the pot we’ve got this fireball cinnamon whisky over from Canada that just warms off the heart and warms up the soul that it complements a nice night out in the forest with friends. It’s fantastic guys. I highly recommend it. One man deserves a smooth, tasty, cinnamony type of drink like this at the end of a hard day slog and a hard day’s better bushcraft in the field. As you can see guys the fireball it lives, it holds a fire within fireball cinnamon whisky, a real man’s drink, coming to you from Holtz’s brewery, the greatest brewery, possibly in the north.

What bad is about consume liquor of a lifetime? A real man’s drink, Joseph Holtz, you’ve picked a little on there. Let me tell you,

How To Build An Elevated Survival Fire To Cook In A Flood

It's a type of thing that you would use if there's been heavy rain in a swampy, boggy type area where you need to raise the fire off the ground, so you can do a bit of cooking. So at the side, there's going to be a little working area, little working space and as far as I'm aware, I don't think this has been shown before on YouTube.

But I just want to show you this today, so you've got an idea of what to do. If you're ever in a situation where you need to build a fire off the ground, so stick with us guys, let's get cracking so the lights a little bit funky, but I'm going to try and do what I can given the type of light lighting conditions that We've got the the cloud is very thick of them all and that's why it's as dark as it is.

So I don't think there's going to be snow today, but the temperatures just above minus so today the equipment I've got with me is the old force acts. This is the 18 inch model with a 1 and 3/4 pound head, so shaft is 18 inch and I've got the silky big boy, and I've also got this silky gun boy as well. So some of the things I'm going to need to look for first are straight Y sticks. Basically, I need round about six of them.

Two of them need to be extended, so I'm going to put a piece of timber across to hang food on. So that's going to be above the fire and then I'm going to need a load of straight logs and a couple of cross beams as well to get it all working together if you've ever been in a swamp or you've visited a flooded area, you'll often see Trees that have fallen and laid down or floating and you'll often find branches that are above the water and they're the time for branches that you need to take as the iris to Deadwood from this spruce, I'm taking the branches or the limbs from the top half These top limbs have been exposed to the air, so any rain – that's happened over the past few days.

The air and the wind will have tried those branches out. All the branches below they'll be picking up moisture from the ground, so they'll be wet, so spite the dead pine. I can harvest this utilize it for the crossbeams and some of the logs that I'm going to need to make the worktop before felling. The tree. I checked out the bark in the bag was coming off, revealing the cambium layer. This is an indication of the trees, dead or dying.

You could see this later on. In the day when I was processing the fire water. By the way, as you can see, the backs coming off the backs just peeling off that's one of the signs. You know it's dead, it's a dead piece of water, I'm doing a rough measurement of around two and a half feet. The silky big fire. Just over 30 inches in full length, which is just over 200 feet, I used about 16 pieces at its length, and this is something you've got to keep in mind when you're thinking about the size of your workspace and besides the fire information, the bigger the workspace, The greater the fire, the more energy you could have expended much at this point, I'm just dressing the water getting off any sharp, thorns or bits that sticking out – and I start to reveal the heartwood for this particular limb.

Now it's often mistaken for fat wood, but the bright orange part you can see now it's actually the heart and the lighter part is the SAP port and just underneath the bark you have the cambium layer beautiful. This fact, what's been harvested from Scots pine, that's been lay here for at least two to three years, it's dry and it smells more like paraffin or turpentine going to fire on that in a minute.

So the idea guys is to put the stakes in the ground and then we're going to put a crossbeam and then we're going to rest these logs the rest these logs across the two cross beams. So for that I need Super Bowl ground. This grounding. Isn't that suitable, because there's a something there? Maybe this might be all right right, put that under there just to level it off. Now we start placing this the piece of logs logged on top just to make a flat surface.

I work it to the fish as well right, so this is where we're going to put the fire, and this is going to be the work surface. So I could do is getting a couple more logs just to be on the safe side, but you may be thinking. How is it going to put a fire on there? Will it burn through? Wouldn't it make sense that heat oxygen fuel it's just going to catch fire. Well, we need to cover this area here, give it a protective layer so that when the the heat hits some of the surface, it won't be hot enough to actually burn the wood.

Nice and sharp so yeah, all the the barkoff. You can make yourself a little few curls if you wish, just for the fun of it now, for the next part, you're going to need some sort of digging tool to to dig up some soil. That's what I'm going to need now proper soil, not Duff, because Dolph, what that will do is it won't protect the would need proper soil clay soil. If you can, it's only dig down, get myself some decent soil and then cover the areas where the fire is going to lay.

First of all, I put some moss down, so the I should be fine. Now we can place the know can place this soil. On top, so I'm going to find some soil here, so we use that this perfect carve it. Oh yeah, odd stuff, see the dog there. Oh deep, it goes, but this is what's going to stop the fire from burning through the air, the water. So I collect a load of this, but, as you can see now, we've made the base there.

That's going to be good enough to hold our fire right now. We've got that the based on it's time to collect some wood for the fire. They get some food on the go once I clean this beautiful Spade. Is it a spade or a shovel trick? Question. Do you know the answer speed? You dig the shovel, you move, that's how I understand it guys if you know anything, different, leave a comment below. Let me know your views.

This is definitely a shovel. Come Spade type thing dig and move nicely, tucked away Johnny down there. Yet so I've got my little twigs there already. All. I would prepared managed to find some perch so we'll see what we can get together with that get prepared properly. This is the new altar force. Now, if I'm using very sharp, I've got to say which is good what you need right. It comes with its own Ferro rod.

Let's get this she's much more virtue on there get its fire going with not the much light left it's the moment in time. So one needs to build this fire up. Ido yeah! Don't let me down that very good. Let's put that on there there you go one fire happy days happy days, guys, let's see how this works out, I got ta be controlled to a certain degree, so got ta manage it. What I'll do I think? That's not too bad in it now.

Let's just see how this works: if it all goes up in flames, then one might look a fool, but it's certainly worth giving a go, can also get a brew on this. Is the titanium titanium frying pan I've got. I can do some eggs on that. Oh yeah, that we've done in two ticks nice there's many different practical uses for this one. If you're like me and you get a bit old and you you don't want to be bending down all the time well, this is great.

I can spread some of this. So long that all we want basically is coals hot coals. So I'm going to give my titanium frying, pan they're, going to just to be on the safe side, get a brillo mask Tommy, bending memory, just managing that fire we're starting to settle boys and girls starting to sizzle. As you can see, it's not it's still in one piece I'll get by jinuk she likes to make hot soup. This isn't the best method, I think for cookie Baker.

Cuz stop! Here it's going to remain on uncooked, so I may have to revert to sticking them in the frying pan underneath there I'm not sure we can see that guys, but I'm concerned it ain't burning. I'r going to put this bacon cheers guys, that's tasty, so nice to get out every now and again, the bacon is just cooking, black pudding is done and the eggs are just right now. Did you read my last article won't play this well, what to Kin? The downfall beautiful mystical place and it's somewhere where I go every year, that's a bit of a pilgrimage thing.

After Christmas and New Year, just to burn off the break in the new year so you'll be enjoyed. It was a good walk, you're. Looking at roundabouts 16k bad on what that is in miles 10 miles, then I have my awesome to either I set off at. I think it was 11 o'clock, actual football um on the path the Pennine way and got back for about our five. So I've done a fair bit of filming, as you saw in the article, a lot of filming with the drone and the lighting was terrible.

Lighting was terrible and it has been pretty dull over the past few days. So I just hope this. The lighting on this article turns out better anyway enough jibber-jabber, it's time for me in the bhaji to chow down that's if this raised fire hasn't completely burnt down at the time that I've been talking to you so anyway, guys any suggestions that you have any comments About this article, anything anything that you think well, maybe you could have done that differently or adaptations or whatever it may be.

You. Let me know inbox me or comment in the comment section bye guys now. The main purpose – frost, Big Ear today or for me being here me and the bad G, guys boynton, the bacon point, the bacon, that's not too bad, but guys you get the point, don't you as soon as I've finished here Ian this lovely lunch or late lunch? Well inspector, would you much so once we peel back a protective layer, we'll see whether it's scratched any of them, and then they still give us an indication of how many times you could actually use this type of fire? How many times you could actually use this type of system sort of say cuz, they know don't.

You know, could probably keep on doing this as long as you look after money's defiant and you create you, keep on and putting your fresh bed down. That's slightly moist, not too much, because that what that will do is it'll draw the moisture up. The failure will suck up the moisture you'll end up putting the fire out, so you want it dancort damp, but not sudden. We've not used one bits of paracord college twine.

This is freestanding. Let us have a little look at. What lays beneath is the fire other than the MOT yeah. You can feel this warmth on the logs for there's no damage no damage to any of these looks fire. Scorch marks or burn marks very dark, no fire, so yeah it's time to head back well, thanks for reading guys and they hope you've enjoyed. If you can guys share this article, people who have are in flooded areas flooded environments will find it particularly useful.

So until next time guys, you take care I'll, see you on the next one.

First Yosemite Hikes

One hour later: that’s Sentinel rock and half done that’s Royal archers all the way on their back. In the ground, just in time for lunch all right, just a brief intermission from now the article is going to jump to a different place and put in the valley, and the reason for that is because I basically forgot to record it.

I mean I was so excited like do you drive and you see so many stuff, then you just like forget to record it. But basically what happened is like that day. We didn’t have a place to sleep in the valley. The thing is like if you’re going to your semin in July, dude there’s a lot of people going to your 7. You like, like they get like 4 million people a year. So that’s a lot of people in that part, so we couldn’t find on Tuesday.

We didn’t have any place to sleep, so Leslie came out with a great idea. Like I let you sleep in the wilderness. We got our wilderness permits the first day that we got there, but basically, what we end up doing was like getting out of the valley going up again. Then we take Tioga Road, a beautiful, beautiful road. I don’t have that much article of it. I was just like reading it, it was a really nice road and we stopped at Mount Hoffman.

Basically from there. We do that hike with all of our stuff, like our 10 hour pillows our food for the day, and if we spend the night there dude, it was a beautiful occasion. We mostly take pictures. I will show you a couple of pictures, alright back to the show. It into that sound, which, let me show you this guy day, two in Yosemite National Park,

Scotland’s Mountain’s,Ben Armine Walk,Hike And Bike In The Highlands Of Scotland,Sutherland

But I’ll be cutting off and going south of that track there. So in the distance you can see, tools called bent are nine. If I have time I’m going to go and climb them too, and then I’m on the back over there, so I’ll cycle it to them and then bag them and then come back the same way down this track here.

Now it’s a no colder! You join me pushing the back of the minute. The area spindle of just sheared off paint the bump and it just went so the wheel pulling to the left hand side when a bony pressure on the pedals, it’s okay for freewheeling, but that’s it so I’m pushing it on the pills and I’m going to go.

I’r going to follow this burn up now up there people’s it there’s like a Pawnee track that ones up there.

So up there I got this is where the old work starts blow up there only I managed to get on the track, and now we’re going southeast this way, but probably about a mile on here before we cooked out on over to Southwest over there. Still on this quad track, whatever it is now we are really going up into sticks over there. It looks like it’s raining, so awfully don’t come this way. First, sighting of it create acquired glass, I’ll put it on the screen because he saw to pronounce as usual, he’s getting him.

I’ve left the track down there. Well, where that green patch is there. I am I’m wondering where to follow that waterfall up and up the Belak or follow this one when round that way, I’ll have a look when I get over this engineer, so I better get cracking times getting on yeah just a quickie. I decided not to do the waterfall, I have to go down and there and it looked quite boggy, so I’m going to go up this be like and then drop down again and then up onto the top.

It’s just getting a bit a cloud on. It now go away cloud. It’s getting a bit blowing up here now that were a leg, Buster caught up there slip area every date, grass and everything Wow better, be worth it. This is one tough Grand Mountain okay get out there, remote mountain, that’s looking southwest look at it just goes for mile after mile of bog, and I hope, there’s a summit we’re pretty blowy over there.

So I’m just going to get a drink about city, gagging for him. Well, what’s come in rain and missed everything losing the views no come on trick point: where are you call me that for now, yeah it’s getting worse and worse! I’ve come this far, I’m going to bag it. I’ve got it, but look at it. I’r sorry, I’m laughs! Anybody! It’s just look! It’s out of this for again create a choir glass with your poor little trick.

Point I’m going to put a stone on to make you bigger I’ll, show you a few because it’s completely gone now, there’s another Grand Mountain over in that direction, quite away on with the broken bag and the time it’s tenting. I was going to do it, but well that’s my excuse device broken, but it is quite a way back a bit of pushing of the back. So I better get out of here yeah, not much of a view. Sorry just disappoint.

You know that happens. It has been clear all this time. Sometimes you get lucky some damaged or about time to get going feel that there that’s the one I came up to come around to this, but I’m going to go down the river now just to cut it out of it. No point climbing back up again just come down this river here, it’s blowing a Hooley now and, as you can see, it’s raining very hard now. I would like to be up there now, so I’m going to follow that River and get back onto the track.

So better get going just down really time get back to the track, Wow. Finally, the track. He said, I don’t have to sit on pillion the distance where well just to the right of it so quite worried about yeah. He even missed it only inhale. You know this either one okay rains really come on now. I’ve got back to the main track, the backs there and that’s look at it now. It’s all while looking away winter, been a big day, still got a lot to do yet getting back slowly, just going to Schultze depends coffee for a second then get a drink.

He’s just spotted it Wow smoke about 30 or more 30, 35 at least more more or less back now, and back at this Beach and poop now well yeah. I hope you enjoyed the article I still enjoy doing it despite the bat problem, so I’m just going to go and grab some tea now and jump in the van and carry on on the next mission, which is probably more towards the northwest, might be Bentley break Or then hope we’ll see so hope you enjoyed it and, as usual, just leave a comment or a like, whichever you want and I’ll catch the next one so go back from Sutherland.

John Muir Trail and Lone Pine Lake Hikes

I was so right now, I’m Kent yesterday. I can’t get this old movie room and it’s because there were a lot of movies filmed in this road. I heard I think the Visitor Center opens pretty late and meanwhile, all these rocks that’s my car right there.

All these rocks are very also very famous for bouldering, so I just got my permit for Mount Whitney on Friday. They gave me a little toilet kit. This is for a yard, on the trail Leave No Trace. Finally, this is the $ 25.00 permit itself and I also got the map I think, on. Okay, our lone pine lake hike today and then put our climate and take shower, take tomorrow off and then start hiking by like at one or two.

I got my site at the Whitney former sweet trail. I see some chops here and there. This is my camping site. Look at this amazing, beautiful and there’s a river right there. So I’m at the trailhead and today I’m just going to go to the Lone Pine Lake and then hike back and take rest at the camping side tomorrow. This is that peak of Mount Whitney. Now it’s like 10:30 and it’s a lot hotter than I thought was the best decision to pre hike at this time of the day and see what I need to prepare like.

I was right, infront of me. I think they’re doing overnight hike. They have their tent sleeping bags and not a backpack in their back and then also hiking poles, but I don’t feel like doing an overnight hike this time so up through the up to the Lone Pine Lake. Let’s go. Finally, I feel like it’s summer again and a lot of water sores, as the Ranger said, so there’s no worry about the water. My only concern is hiking without of sunlight hiking without a daylight which I’m not a big fan of, but look at this water is so fresh, so my right foot doesn’t have the bottom anymore.

This look at this. It’s all gone, the grip is just gone. I lost a half at the Half Dome and the other half at the South, a real beaut, a South aerial peak. This reminds me of the Wall Street, The Narrows hike of Zion, so I met that John Muir wilderness trail, and here this connects to. We have film jm9 thousand three hundred thirty one seats, not a very pretty for bitches at Bob like over three thousand meters above sea level, and I’m not kidding it’s tough.

I think my ask my in a spy and handler it’s going to help open my air tube on Friday. I got it in my emergency kid, so I just hit can K feet above the sea level. This is a cute. Oh, my god, there is fish. Then I catch them and at the for dinner, please wait. That’s so many fish lumpinee on Pine Lake. That way look at this reflection is just on point holy cow. This is crazy. This is just speechless.

Go on Pine Lake, just by myself. Like this whole thing, myself look at the reflection. It’s crazy! You can’t even know where’s the sky and where’s the lake holy cow time for some droning time to fly some drone a morning. Brain wooden, son whoa, never wanted us to our destinations. He that’s right. Let it carry a story. We will remember forever from the late today. Another punch out. This is how you poop in heck out downhill, is the best part right so for late lunch, I’m going to cook so that hike was amazing.

I’d say one of them, so the lake – I was one of the best hikes so far in this trip, and now it’s like 3:30 and I’ll have the late lunch. We’re Patagonia provisions. Sorry pheew provisions, black bean soup, ten minute meal. So it’s good. I ready in ten minutes just open the pocket and pour it into the so good. I was kind of disappointed at their breakfast meal banana meal, but this looks pretty good support into boiling water and then boil for another minute and close the lid and simmer it for nine minutes for extra treat at crumble, conchita, cheese, avocado, slices and drizzle of olive Oil, well, I have avocado and olive oil and a little bit of cheese so out at all of those.

I guess avocado is such a luxury to have last for lunch and dinner. You’re, fine, sighs, I’m missing one answer in so good now wait. I have to move this to my actual campus podcast. I accidentally parked at the wrong side. My site is right here, the next war. I don’t know why I thought the outside was there, but here when I leave it here, go back there bring my car back and eat the lunch campfire.

It was guess what this is. The perfect thing to read sunrise here, Wiles and I forgot to turn off my freaking light and then, though, the car won’t start and I’m middle of nowhere, I’m just and it’s only 7:00 a.M. The park service hasn’t opened. I guess I’ll. Just wait for here drives down or drives up, and hopefully he or she has the battery jumper. It’s it’s not even funny. I thank God. I don’t have any plan today and then it’s just a part of climate acclimatize, climatized i’ll have to stay up above a certain level.

Anyways yeah, I’m not really in hurry for shower or I just have to take shower today and maybe some laundry and that’s it August I’ll write some and say today for MIT. I don’t know I just started making these memos after the battery died. Oh, oh yeah. Yeah, that’s all. I was just sticking around here for a while. The first trial of jumping didn’t work at all and then now I had to call the escape campervan and then ask for the solution and they said to call the Pope told service and they’ll pay for the fee, because I had the insurance and now the whole Guy was here, and then he threw start the copper back.

I think the batter is like completely dead. It’s not it’s not. Charging the car itself is pretty organs to be an issue almost always very helpful to find the answers that I have, even though they don’t know D into their, I don’t offer them search online. That’s why I’m like, I was a almost hesitant to visiting all the visitor center, its renovate go to the national parks, but they just became my first seven.

Ever I got some new ones because they can’t give you the information they don’t where to hide. They can’t even tell me they can’t even even tell me like where their favorite Heights are off. The shower. Finally, look shower – and I guess five days, today’s 26th and that was a sick shower after 30 days shower since the day one and tomorrow I mean actually in in like 13 hours. I am hiking the Mount with me, but one of the hiker that I met yesterday suggested me to spend a day in this area.

That’s called Horseshoe Meadows and all those informations everything like warns about everywhere warns about the fair, but I got warned about the bear. So much and creature and everywhere so that i’m pretty accustomed to what’s going on so this morning I stopped by the Visitor Center Easter’s. Yet a visitor Eastern Sierra visitor center and ask for a few hiking trails that I could take after the Mount Whitney and she suggested um cutting the trail pass.

Then it gets cold. So basically, here are one and Houdini end Houdini in nano sweater got nano down. Sweater 10,000 feet up here, I’m going to find somewhere. I can sit down and do something be back.

A Cinematic Hike – DJI Mavic Air

I just want to get out of town get out of the city, get up into nature, all this beautiful trees and grass and greenery and awesomeness all around me. But I have my drone in my backpack. I have my camera. I’r just going to come out here. Hopefully get some cool footage, try to shoot some cool b-roll get some beautiful stuff yeah.

This is kind of like a back trail way up on the end of Hogan Lake Park at this dirt parking lot up by the road and then follow this dry creek bed down. I was here once before in November. I think it’s like a 45-minute drive, but it’s totally worth it. It’s absolutely beautiful is really neat. Unfortunately, I have not been back. I don’t know why I haven’t been back is just one of those things I haven’t been back and now I am back with the drone super excited and I’m hoping that the sunset is really good.

Last time I was out here, the sunset was beautiful, all right. So this looks really nice behind me. I like the way, the the sun’s hitting the trees and everything so, let’s roll the b-roll. Unfortunately, I think I got out here just a tad too late. I forgot how big this mountain right up here was and like how much it blocked the Sun, and so this entire area down here, which is actually my favorite part, is already in shade.

But I might pop up my drone a little bit get some of the creek area, because it’s really pretty right up here will be a perfect vantage point, because I got this big rock to stand on boom. I have a view so yeah. Let’s do this I’m going to set up here for a few minutes, and then I want to book it down to more where the Sun is to see. If I can get some good stuff as the Sun actually starts going down there, I got some shots there, but check this out.

Unfortunately, you can see the sun’s starting to go down. Oh I got ta get out of here. I got ta get to where I can get some more shots. I’ve used one drone battery. I have two remaining look at this guy’s. Oh, that’s beautiful! That is absolutely stunning. I think I might set up here real quick. Do about ten minutes. Five. Ten minutes of drone footage and then keep going because look at this guy’s, I can’t miss getting all this cool stuff on the drone.

Let’s see what it looks like all right, let’s get a move on it. I think that footage turned out pretty cool. I still definitely would like to come back when there’s Sun. I don’t know why. I don’t do this. You know this is actually an interesting question. Why is it the healthy things in our life that we love? For instance, like me, I absolutely love coming outdoors. I salutely love doing this kind of stuff right, but the healthy stuff in our life that we love to do oftentimes.

We have the least motivation to do. I know for 100 % sure I could do it every single week at least once a week, every single week without fail, and yet I have not done anything like this in weeks wow. This is kind of crazy. Oh, that’s what you call kind of a random, makeshift fence right there. I don’t know. Let me know if you have the same problem, I’d love to know. If you struggle it the same thing I think motivation sometimes is the hardest thing in life.

I think it takes more than just momentary. You know the moments of inspiration and motivation from other people. You had you have to find it in yourself and it has to be something you truly want. If you don’t truly desire it you’ll, never do it whether you’re talking about relationships or or whatever it is. You know. If you don’t truly desire it, you don’t want it odd questions, throw it out there.

Let me know what you guys think, but it’s been going through my head a lot lately. This is where I wanted to be check this out. So there’s Hogan Lake, and this is the river that we just kind of came down and last time I ended right down there by that pile of rocks. So I’m going to head down there. Let’s cue the cinema, all right. Well, I think it’s time to head back. I saw some fish jump. I got some awesome footage.

I am so psyched for what its going to look like, and I hope you guys love it because it just looked like it was going to be amazing, and I can’t wait to edit it there’s a boat out there. I saw that boat leaving when I was coming now he’s coming back. I think they’re fishing, that’s what they’re doing there are so many fish jumping. I was trying to get it on the drone, but I wasn’t able to get any, but this is literally the perfect time.

That’s what they’re doing anyways I’m going to get out of here, I’m getting eaten up by mosquitos, and I want to get out to the car before it’s too dark, I’m not sure, really, where the trail is. I came from up there somewhere. I think up there that little Ridge is where the trail is. This was amazing, but also tomorrow I have the entire day off and I’m not sure what to do. But the one thing I know I’m I want to do is fly my drone, but it’s going to be good and I’m super excited for what’s to come anyway.

So I hope you guys enjoyed the cool footage I got if it turned out cool. I hope it turned out cool and I hope you guys enjoyed it so until next time, peace out

Is a $25 Tent from Walmart Waterproof? – Ozark 1 Person Backpacking Tent

It’s not bad one minute, terrible music. Hey there buddy! I have a question about the Ozark Trail, one person backpacking tent um – if you take it down to like the winds and rain, it’s just not made for that. It’s not going to hold that well, for you do not take this tent out in anything other than perfect weather.

I’m done my name is Luke. This is the outdoor river view. They get very much for tuning in okay. So, a few weeks back, a viewer sent me a tint in the mail is some viewer mail? You guys might have seen that article and I may not have actually put it up yet. It really just depends on how I spaced out the articles but anyways a viewer named tan, sent me a tent from Walmart, and it was the Ozark one person backpacking tent.

Now there are actually many different tents from Ozark which they refer to as one person backpacking tent. So the model number for this tent is W 79 6.1. Just in case, you were interested. Let’s go over to this tent real quick, take a quick look at it. So that’s the front it’s more of a pity than a tent going around to the back. It has two poles one in the front one in the back here. Of course, the one in the back is smaller.

This thing is super simple: to set up comes with seven stakes: it is a single wall tent you receive a sleeve for the poles, a sleeve for the stakes. It comes with this box owner’s manual and the stuff bag right here. Speaking of the poles, these are fiberglass. As you can see, you have two guide line points those are included. There are no other guide line points for this tent. This is the insurance right here and take a look at the size of this thing.

It is absolutely huge. This thing is gigantic, so I get the viewer bail. I open it up, there’s this tent and how awesome is that ten? Thank you very much for doing this for everyone, because I get to share all this information with you all. So I see this tent it’s an inexpensive tent, which cost roughly twenty-five dollars from Walmart. You can find it on Amazon and other websites, but the prices are higher, so roughly twenty-five bucks at Walmart, ten, as well as many of the other viewers, want me to begin testing out very inexpensive products such as this.

So the day that I received this tent, I got to the house open it up, so the tent and the sky was black right. So I was like okay, you know what I’m going outside I’m going to set this up real quick, so it can have a few hours out in the rain. Let’s see if this tent is waterproofed, because that is my question is a $ 25 tent from Walmart waterproof, and the answer is no. No, it is not. This is not a waterproof tent.

This thing failed all the way around the entire body. I’ll show you some clips now, so we have some rain coming in some storms. We will see how well she does. Let’s take a look here on the inside of the tent. Now we are looking at the waterproof this of this tent. Okay, as we can see here, there is a water drop here. There is water here looks like this scene. Here is failing. We have water on the other side over here, so pulling a good bit of pulling here again more leaking at the seams here again more leaking.

The point of leakage for this tent goes all the way around the body of the tent. It deals with the seams, but not all of them, for example the seam on top here. This has been taped and it is fully waterproof same on the other side, but the seam down here towards the bottom of the tent. It has not been taped and water will leak through this all the way around. So let’s go over the stats, real quick for this tent before going any further price $ 25 color, yellow and tan weight around three pounds.

It is 96 inches long 48 inches wide at the front of the tent. At the foot box it is 24 inches wide. The front of the tent is 36 inches high and it does taper down to 22 inches. Now I was able to find a website called Ozark Trail tents, calm. You guys should go over and check that thing out, because it’s like a blast from the 90s as soon as you go there. You are greeted with this pop-up on the side and it’s this animated character.

Who is talking to you about Ozark tents? It’s super weird. It’s probably one of the fishiest sites that I’ve been to in a long time, hi and welcome Bill of justin.Com home to Walmart brand camping, tent Ozark Trail. What are you looking for? A new camping, tent, sleeping back, camping gear or replacement in poles? You have come to the right place, take a look around read on camping gear reviews and start planning.

Your next camping getaway today and the animated character reminds me of like a desktop buddy from the 90s, like Banzai buddy or like the desktop stripper babes or whatever. It’s really weird so, as we discuss already the perimeter, the stitching around the perimeter, that is the weak point for this tent water will come in when it’s raining. You do have to be careful with your setup here. You need the front of this tent to be leaning over some that way when it’s raining the water slides off of this vestibule here this very short, very small vestibule and stays away from the zipper, because if the water hits the zipper it will leak through now, This tent was put on the rain for roughly two hours and you saw how much water was inside of it, and that was a very light to moderate rain.

No thunderstorm, nothing heavy, and this thing definitely leaked now. You could take some seam sealer and go all the way around the perimeter here and stop this thing up. That does not mean that you will stay dry inside of this tent and that’s because this is a single wall tent with limited ventilation. I could tell you, I spent one night in this tent and I do not want to spend another night in it.

The condensation and the amount of moisture buildup on the walls was probably the most insane I have ever seen in a tent before the entire thing was soaking, wet and, of course, that’s with a moderate, humidity level right, I believe around 65 70 % here in the Mountains that night no rain at all. I just had this zipped up if you were able to camp out and have this door open, but with just the mesh here, your condensation level, the moisture level will be kept to a minimum, but you will still be wet.

Don’t worry about that, but if you have to seal this thing up because of cold conditions or because it’s wet outside something like that, this thing will gather an incredible amount of condensation more than you can imagine I mean it really is terrible. This material here, which I believe is a polyester, is not breathable at all all and that could be because of the water repellent finish, which is on the material itself.

Now speaking of the water repellant finish on this tent after it got done raining, it came out. Take a look at the tent, there was some pulling here on the material and it was discolored, and I believe that is the water repellent treatment that was done to the tent. So it is coming off. Based upon my observations of this tent so far, I believe that this is a product that you will have to treat yourself with a water repellent coating, often to keep yourself dry.

If you are in an area, that’s very dry that receives very little moisture. This is an interesting option to consider, because for $ 25.00, you are getting a $ 25 ten. This tent right here is worth $ 25. It performs like a $ 25 10 should, if you are in a wet area, a place with high humidity man. This is not the tent for you. This is, without a doubt, not the tent. For me, the amount of moisture buildup inside of this thing is, like I mentioned before incredible.

The linking around the perimeter is insane. This is a twenty five dollar tent. There are loose threads all over the place. Look at that stitching, very, very poor. I wouldn’t want to pull on this right going down. It’s all kinked up, very, very rough. Here’s a long thread, sticking out! Here’s another one, it’s very very long as I was doing some research about this tent here. I found one review where the individual stated he had an issue with the tent leaking leaked when it rained.

He had condensation build-up like crazy, so he contacted the company. He was told by the company by a representative that these tents are made for use in the front yard of your home and in perfect conditions. They are not made for backpacking and they are not meant to be used in foul weather. That is incredibly interesting. So I found a phone number here for ozarks: let’s give them a call and see if they recommend this product being used for backpacking, talented anytime report outlining directory jump.

Please be aware that this phone call may be recorded for training and quality control purposes. You’re expected wait. Time is approximately one minute: it’s not bad one minute, terrible music, ooh awful. I fixed your excel outdoors. My name is Benji. How can I help you hey there buddy. I have a question about the Ozark Trail, one person backpacking tent, and hopefully you can answer that. For me. I purchased this tent and I actually came across a review on the Walmart web page and it said that this individual had talked to customer service at Ozark and they were told that they shouldn’t go backpacking with this tent and that it should only be used in Their front yard – and so I was just kind of hoping to get some clarification on that.

I think the clarification is really that they’re really made for perfect weather. If you take a condoms like the wind and rain, it’s just not made for that. It’s not going to hold up well for you, okay. I appreciate the honesty. Thank you very much all right, all right, okay, folks, there you have it straight from Ozark themselves. Do not take this tent out in anything other than perfect weather. Should you purchase this tent? No is it great for your kids to play in? Yes, if you think about that, that’s fairly devious, because when you go to Walmart you’re buying a tent you’re thinking about likely I’m going to take this in the outdoors.

And it’s going to protect me. But here with Ozark, they are saying, do not use it in any conditions, less than perfect hmm something to consider so it has been roughly 24 hours since I filmed the Ozark article and I made a call to their customer service and after sleeping upon this, I Wanted to do a sort of follow-up and give you all my impressions. I think the fact that this company Ozark is selling this tent here and they are advertising this as a backpacking tent when it is not, is extremely deceptive.

I don’t want anybody to go out and purchase this tent and then take this out onto the trail miles away from the car from the house and so on and get stuck in a situation that may become life or death threatening. That is something that could happen very easily, especially when they are advertising this at a backpacking tent. The conditions are not always going to be perfect and with this tent here, the one person backpacking tent, that’s what it was designed for.

I think this is extremely deceptive. It’s wrong: they should not be offering this tin as a backpacking option, because it is not one. This tent was made for your kids to play in in the front yard. Right, that’s pretty much it. If you take this tent out into the weather, you are putting yourself at serious risk. It is not made for the wind, it is not made for the weather, the rain, the moisture and so on.

I apologize folks for the low lighting and for the echo, but that’s how it is my neighbors actually mowing his yard. So if I had the door open or if I was outside of you really loud anyways folks, I’m all for inexpensive, very budget-friendly tents. But this is not a good option and you do have to question always Ark as a company as a whole are their tents are any of them waterproof and honestly, that is not an answer that I have at this moment.

I went through a number of different listings on walmart.Com and a lot of them stated that the tents are weather resistant, but not waterproof, and if they are outside in the rain, the materials will soak through and you will get wet with. That being the case, I am going to make a separate article stating an advisory about purchasing Ozark products. You really need to know what product that you have and what its capabilities are.

That is very important information to have, and you should have it if you have an Ozark tent or you are considering purchasing one. You need to call the Ozark customer service. I will put the phone number in the description box down below and you need to ask them about the performance of that tent. I do not want anyone to get hurt. I don’t want anyone to die from exposure hypothermia or whatever, because their 10th failed them with.

That being said, do I recommend me one person, Oh, is our backpacking tent? I do not not no not at all and as it stands, I’m not sure. I would even consider any of their products based upon the deceptive nature, other advertising with that they said every one, I’m going to finish up the editing of this article now shoot the other advisory article and I’m excited to see your comments down below so folks.

Make sure to chime in state your thoughts if you love Ozark and you have a product which is fantastic, make sure to state that down below make sure to state what that product is. If you’ve had an Ozark product that has failed. You comment down below. If you think my review and my criticisms and my alerts are accurate thumbs up, if you disagree with me, give it a thumbs down, call me Don strengthen honor by

Ultralight! – Big Agnes Tiger Wall UL2 – Trail Review

My name is Luke. This is the outdoor gear review and after travelling all around the country backpacking with this tent I’m ready to pass on my review. This is the Big Agnes tiger wall, ultralight to tent. Go ahead and get comfortable, let’s get started now: let’s go over some stats while I set up the tent. This is an ultralight three season, backpacking tent, which comes in at two pounds: eight ounces: this is a two-person tent.

The retail price is four hundred dollars and when you’re looking at the pack size, you were looking at 18 inches long by five and a half inches. It features two doors: two vestibules it utilizes a DAC, aluminum feather-light, pole, 8.7 millimeters in diameter. The rain fly is a ripstop nylon. The floor material is also a ripstop nylon. You get eight aluminum stakes and the canopy material is ripstop nylon with a polyester mesh, so the tents been set up.

Let’s take a look at the features, namely those on the outside. With the fly, as you can see the material here, you can somewhat see through it, but you do have complete privacy. You don’t have to worry about anything like that on this side, you have two guy lines going around. You have a door. This does have a storm flap over the zipper which is velcroed into place. You do have two-way YKK zippers, so you can open this multiple ways going around to the back side.

This is the foot box area. You have one guide line, tie off point and then go into the other side. You have the other door vestibule and the same sort of features. Now when it comes to the set up process, it really doesn’t get any easier than this. Everything is color-coded, it makes sense. You can get this thing up in less than five minutes. Just like that, when the weather is good, you can roll back the doors inside the tent.

You have lots of space. I will grab the tape measure here in just a second. We will go over the measurements on the inside as far as pockets go. You have three pockets, one up above your head, one on the left side, one on the right side, and that is all you can’t purchase a gear caddy for this tent, but I wouldn’t for this price. It should be included. This tent features a bathtub floor, so it is fully waterproof.

All of the seams are taped there sealed that goes for the floor, and that goes the fly as well all right. So, let’s check out the dimensions starting up here where your head will be. That is right at 50 and a half inches it has a peak height of 36 inches at the foot box. You were looking at 40 inches wide with a height of 20 inches when it comes to overall length. You are looking at 83 inches, so we’ve take a look at the tent here.

We’ve set it up, let’s start with the review. First off: let’s talk about the price. This is actually a pro for this tent for $ 400. I cannot think of a comparable, ultralight tent. That is this light and this feature of rich. I can’t think of a single competitor that comes close to what you get here. Yes, four hundred dollars is a lot of money, but you are getting a very well-made. Ultralight tent that can handle a good deal of weather, wind rain and so on.

The build quality is truly excellent inside and out. This is what you would expect for a $ 400 tent and Big. Agnes does not disappoint here. All of this stitches, the seams. Everything is absolutely perfect. There is a huge difference in quality from a tent like this when compared to a very inexpensive 10 we’ve take a look at tons of those. Some of them are actually pretty good, but the difference in quality is substantial.

You will have loose threads all over the place. You can actually just pull them out and all sorts of other issues with the tiger wall. Ultralight. You have none of those issues for being an ultralight tent. This does offer you quite a bit of space for two people. Oftentimes. When you have these ultralight tents, that’s claimed to be two people, there’s really not enough space, but in this one there definitely is.

You can get two full-sized sleeping pads inside of this, and you could sleep just fine. Each user will have their own door and vestibule for gear storage entering and exiting. I would say this if you and the buddy that you’re going camping with are large individuals having the three-person version of this tent might come in handy as it will give you a little bit more space to enjoy. Without a doubt.

This is a three season tent. The materials are very thin. I would not take this into the fourth season 3 season – oh yeah, no doubt about it. This can handle the rain it can handle the storms – and I have put this through numerous storms and rainstorms, and it has really done well. I’ve had no issues with leaking. I’ve had no issues with water coming through the floor or anything like that with strong winds.

I have stayed dry in this tent now talking about my experiences with this tent. I have taken this bad boy all over the country I took this domain, use that on the coast to go backpacking with I’ve, used it in Virginia Tennessee and actually South Carolina. Just recently with my buddy Chris – and I, this tent has held up very very well with all of my adventures and there’s not a whole lot to complain about here.

There is one issue that is super irritating and why don’t we go ahead and talk about that? Right now, this tent features pre-cut guidelines. Essentially, what this means is that the company has gone ahead and cut your guidelines to a very short length, and that is absolutely fine if you’re laying on a very flat and perfect platform. But if you’re, not if the ground is uneven, it can be difficult, if not impossible, to set this tent up correctly so check this out.

You could see these main guidelines here, one for the fly one for the body. Look at how short these are right. So, let’s keep moving around here’s the guidelines on the other side, so going down here’s the guidelines right here for this tent to be pitched tightly for it to be taut. These stakes can only be it to the ground, only an inch or two. Otherwise, it would completely deform this tent because the guidelines were cut.

This short there’s no way to really get this to work if the ground is not, even if you plan on buying this tent plan on cutting your own guidelines and using those, because these are way too short, especially with the doors now when Sue’s – and I were Up in Maine – and it came time for tent site selection, there was only one spot and it was very uneven and because it was so uneven, we couldn’t actually stake out one of the doors.

This side was perfect, but the other side was up in the air. I’ve also had issues with those tiny guidelines coming untied on their own, so, in my opinion, they’re, not very good. Now some people would consider the very thin materials here with this tent to be a con. I would not. This was built for a very specific purpose and that is to go like that’s a go-fast. This is an ultra-light tent for an ultralight backpacker.

This is for someone who wants to cut pounds off of their sleep system, and you can definitely do that. So, in my opinion, yes, the materials are thin, but they’re, strong, they’re, waterproof and I’ve had no issues with my testing so far. Next up we have these stuffed bag storage bag. Here with the tent, this is just tight. This is very tight. It’s not the smallest! I’ve ever worked with, but it’s on the small side.

If you wake up in the morning – and you haven’t, had your coffee yet and you’re trying to roll this thing up and you don’t necessarily roll it super tight, it will not fit inside of this bag. I would personally like to see this just being a little bit larger next up, since this is a nylon tent, the materials will sag when they get wet some. What this is not a huge issue, it will sag that’s how it goes with nylon, tents.

I definitely have tents that sag worse than this, namely those from NEMA those really sag a lot. This will sag, but it’s not the worst. I’ve ever seen. The final con, which I will speak about is the zipper guard here. Yes, it does serve a purpose, but this could be extremely annoying, especially when this gets damp or wet. As you can see, the zipper functions very well, but when this material gets damp or wet it gets caught in the zipper non-stop, it is incredibly irritating.

That is pretty much it when it comes to the tiger wall, ultralight to tent from Big Agnes. All in all, this tent is a winner. In my opinion, this is a great tent I’ve enjoyed using it. It really has kept me safe and sound on numerous adventures. I have been testing this out for the last couple of months and it’s done really really well all over the country. I really can’t complain much about it. The guidelines are horrible.

Those need to be redone. If you purchase this tent, you can even use some shock cord, and that would work much better than what you got here. The flap does get caught when the doors are wet, but that happens with a lot of tents. If you are in the market for an ultra light tent for 400 bucks, this is not a bad option to consider, as mentioned before, there’s not many tents at this price range which will offer you so much oftentimes, comparable tents are much more expensive.

If you all have any questions for me, email me until next time, I will see you guys around strengthen honor, guys

I know that I keep mentioning Spunks, but I like these pumpkin seeds and you should try them too! They are just great for camping and other fun activities. The video below is a little bit of a look into the shop that makes Spunks.
